connector mxj questions and problem making connections

Hi

I am trying to make use of the mxj connector (great product).

I'm currently playing around with it but have hit a problem in that I cant seam to connect to the started server from mySQL workbench.

Is this a problem with the number of connections that are allowed by default, etc.

Also I would like to be able to set up replication with this so that my clients will sync with a master server, is it possible to combine a my.cnf file with connector mxj are set up the settings via passing in the params?
