I tried using both the 3.0.16 and 3.1.6 drivers. I tested these against both a 4.0.21 and 4.1.8 MySQL database server.
Next I am going to look into streamlining my query, as you suggested. I am using JDBC within an application server. I have investigated the connection pooling, and it doesn't seem to be a problem. Are there any known issues like this when using the driver within an app server?
