mysql-connector-java-5.1.42-bin.jar won't run

Downloaded Platform Independent Connector/J 5.1.42 (Zip), extracted, and the mysql-connector-java-5.1.42-bin.jar executable won't run to install the connector. (Windows 10)
Any suggestions appreciated, thanks!
