JDBC Connector Java Licensed, Do I need to pay for it?

I have a Web Application developed in Java with Mysql Database. I've read that the plugin is licensed under GPLv2, but I'm not sure if I can use it without legal issue or without having to be public the source code.

May I use the JDBC connector? Or do I need to pay for it?
