Read my previous reply. This is not a bug. If you need specific formating for dates, you should _never_ rely on the 'default' formatting, as it may (and has) changed. Sometimes even the JDK itself causes changes such as this.

If you need a specific date format, then you should use the SimpleDateFormat class in your JDK. That way no matter what the 'default' format is, you get the format you expect.
