Which mirrors? I've tested the downloads from most of the US ones, and the .zips and .tar.gz unpack fine, and the MD5's match what we generated when producing the files. I tested the downloads on a machine other than the one the release was built on just to make sure.
We'd need to know which mirror(s) you're downloading from to isolate the problem.
