i've been playing around with an app (tomcat/struts/hsqldb) and have been looking at strengthening the database. so i downloaded v5.0.4 developer version and have been surprised to find out that these methods (below) are not implemented for mysql.

i desperately need the first method - getParameterMetaData()

anyone know if its coming soon?

PreparedStatements are implemented by the driver, as MySQL does not have a prepared statement feature. Because of this, the driver does not implement getParameterMetaData() or getMetaData() as it would require the driver to have a complete SQL parser in the client.
