Connecting from Sun AS 8.1 to MySql

Hi,

I am trying to setup jndi connection pool in sun AS (ver 8.1) to link to MySql (ver 4.1). I have set this up as:
Datasource classname: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
Resource type: javax.sql.DataSource

When hitting Ping, I get "Operation 'pingConnectionPool' failed in 'resources' Config Mbean. Target exception message: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver".

Any idea?
