Problem with Mysql JDBC connector with WIN XP

hi every body
i could seem to figure out the problem. i have exactly the same mysql version same JDBC connector version same java code through which i connect to mysql server. But i couldnt connection through WIN Xp, which i can very well dowhen i run the code on windows 2000.
i tried on many machines with win xp the same prob is there in al the machines.
I want to know is there any known bug with JDBC connector with Win XP.
