Frankly, I don't see your point kumbamumfe. To me, each paragraph in the man pages you quote is relevant and correctly ordered for the Connector/J installation. The first paragraph describes the format of the distribution, the second warns against installing an inappropriate distro, the third is necessary for those folks who are installing a newer version of Connector/J who are accustomed to a different distribution format, and the fourth and beyond explain to newbies how to get the archives installed. I honestly don't see what the complaint is about. And, furthermore, Mark made a very direct comment that if you approach a forum post in a belligerent manner, that response from the MySQL team (or anyone else for that matter) might be tough to come by.
