Hi Terry,
could you please send or post your full JBoss datasource configuration with the primary datasource and the backup datasource?
Can you confirm the following behaviour:
- your app uses datasource1 all the time and not datasource2
- if datasource1 is not available (goes down), then your app switches to datasource2
- when datasource1 gets back to normal, your app gets back to datasource1
