Cannot establish a connection to jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306 for user root
I have been using mysql and netbeans for doing project. and i connected mysql to netbeans. now i copied forms from my application to different project and i was unable to connect to database. so i tried many ways to connect it. but it was not working. then i deleted the mysql server instance and tried to add a new connection now i am getting an error message like
Unable to connect to the MySQL server:
org.netbeans.api.db.explorer.DatabaseException: Cannot establish a connection to jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306 for user root.
The server may not be running or your MySQL connection properties may not be set correctly. Do you want to edit your MySQL connection properties?
i'm new to mysql and if anybody can help me out it will be good
