Mysql connectTimeout And socketTimeout not working

Hi

While connecting to mysql database through jdbc connection i'm using socketTimeout and connectTimeout. Its working but not properly.

I set both timeout 15000(15 sec) but when connection is not available its timing out at around 1 min 25 sec.

Actually its not taking 1000 units as one second, so anybody can help me.
