Hi,

Maybe the issue is not clear - so I'll try and explain it in detail. We have been stuck with this issue for 1 month without a resolution - so really keen to have some insights/ideas of resolving the issue.

We use pentaho ( V 5.0.1 ) with MySql Connector version 5.1.27. When we execute a job that connects to different MYSql Instances, and one of them is out of the network, sometimes it hangs - waits indefinitely. We have configured the ConnectTimeout as part of JDBC MySql options inspite of which it does not disconnect. The error thrown "Communication Link Failure"
is the same in the cases where it times-out as well as in the cases where it waits indefinitely.

The wait-indefinte situation happens on different MySQL instances on different occasions and we are not able to get any patterns around when it waits-indefintely and when it comes back with failure message quickly.
