java.net.SocketPermission Error

Hi,

I have written a Java applet that connects to a mySQL database via JDBC. Each time I run the applet, I get the following error message.

java.sql.SQLException: Unable to connect to any hosts due to exception: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission 127.0.0.1:3306 connect, resolve)

I'm running my own mySQL server on a Mac running Mac OS 10.3.6.

I have written a java.policy file:

grant {
permission java.net.SocketPermission "127.0.0.1:3306", "accept,connect,resolve";
};

but I'm not too sure where to place it.

Thanks,
Bruce
