How to Log MySQL DB Connection Obtain & Release Time in OpenJPA?

We are trying out Websphere application with OpenJPA & MySQL. OpenJPA is the default provider there. We were using Hibernate & MySQL till this time. We can switch to Hibernate in WebSphere, but we are planning to benchmark both OpenJPA & Hibernate.

We used to log Hibernate DB connection obtain & release time, and parse them to debug any performance issue or db related bottleneck. But we couldn't find any particular pattern for that in case of OpenJPA. If you have some resource or already know answer to this, please help. Just to clarify, I want something similar to this https://www.w3spot.com/2021/04/log-when-jdbc-connection-is-acquired.html
