AbandonedConnectionCleanupThread's problem

When I analyzed heap memory using MAT, I found that 75% of the memory usage came from the connectionFinalizerPhantomRefs variable of the AbandonedConnectionCleanupThread. Why is this? The version I am using is
<groupId>mysql</groupId>
<artifactId>mysql-connector-java</artifactId>
<version>8.0.32</version>
