It is solved!

The stuppid thing is that I already tried:
jdbc:mysql://xxx.xxx.xx.xxx:3306/dbname?useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=UTF-8","user","password"
jdbc:mysql://xxx.xxx.xx.xxx:3306/dbname?characterEncoding=UTF-8","user","password"
but not
jdbc:mysql://xxx.xxx.xx.xxx:3306/dbname?useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=UTF-8","user","password"

Which does the trick,
