See http://dev.mysql.com/tech-resources/articles/mysql-network-and-you.html for information and some simple questions that will allow you to assess whether you need non-GPL licenses.

There are two things you don't tell above, so I can't simply answer your question....
- Will your application link with the MySQL client libraries (C API), or the MySQL Server (embedded) ?
- Will your application be distributed un an open source (GPL or compatible) license?
