Recovery using only DATA and LOG volume files
Good Day.
I have reviewed the forum and faq's and cannot find a reference to a similar situation - I hope someone can assist.
It turns out one of our admins (now on his way out...) decided to simply copy the directory where the data and log volumes are stored as a backup before re-formatting one of the database servers.
So, subsequently I have only the DATA and LOG file (with db name and dba user/password) and deseperately need to try recover this.
Is there any way to do this ?
Alternatively I have to wait days for the offsite backups to be brought in... aarggh
Please, if anyone has ANY ideas or suggestions please provide feedback.
Regards
