Is there any similar method to deal with GUID like uniqueidentifier in SQL Server?

Hi,

I'm new to MaxDB.
As we know, there is a type "uniqueidentifier" in SQL Server, which generated by the function "newid()". The result is a GUID.
So, I wanna if there is similar method in MaxDB to gain a GUID, or MaxDB has its own way to implemention this feature ?

Thanks very much!
