how to install/configure lib_mysqludf_xql

Hi

I want to extract my results from a MySql table into XML format. I have found the right library but don't know how to install it.
The 3rd party library/extention is lib_mysqludf_xql from http://mysqludf.com/lib_mysqludf_xql/

I am using Ubuntu 8.10 and i am trying to parse with Php

My question is how to install lib_mysqludf_xql on ubuntu 8.10
