Continuent today announced Tungsten 1.1. With Continuent’s Tungsten solutions you can improve your existing database with:

• Automatic Failover with no data loss: maintain extra replicas of data in a case the master database fails, with automatic master failover by promoting one of the slaves as a new master
• Performance: use multiple database replicas to scale database performance
• Backup and Disaster Recovery: copy data on multiple databases, local or remote, for backup and disaster recovery
• Real-time Data Integration: replicate from MySQL to Oracle and vice versa
• Real-time Data Warehousing: copy data in real-time from a production database into a data warehouse for analysis and reporting.

Continuent Tungsten Enterprise 1.1 introduces the following new core features:
• One-step installation and configuration process
• Fully automated database failover using sophisticated production rules
• Integrated, easy to use backup solution
• Unique session-consistency load balancing model
• Comprehensive database cluster management for database administration
• Ability to control operating system services from the cluster management console program.

Continuent Tungsten runs on all Linux™ and Solaris® platforms. The Continuent Tungsten Cloud Edition also runs in the Amazon EC2™ cloud through integration with RightScale®.

"Continuent Tungsten allows us to work with our customers to improve our
product, instead of managing the infrastructure that it runs on. With a
database cluster that works together and manages itself, I know that it will
handle our availability and scalability requirements", said Jeff Mace, team
leader at AetherQuest Solutions.

Continuent Tungsten Enterprise is available today for MySQL and MariaDB, and for PostgreSQL in September. Continuent Tungsten Enterprise is available for Oracle in Q4’09. For more information, visit
