MySQLdb.Error Exception with code 0

We are working on linux+python+mysql setup.

Sometimes we get MySQLdb.Error Exception with Exception Code 0 and null string.

Just to add, once this error is generated it persists for all the SQL queries that come to server.

Has someone come across such an error. Please enlighten us on the possiblities of this error.
