Hi Noel,
if u haven't already figured this out yet...
uninstall activeperl 5.8 and install version 5.6 and during installation select to install only perl and PPM2 and dont select PPM3..
after the perl installation completes...install dbi and dbd-mysql from the ppm prompt(c:\perl\bin\ppm)...
everything should work fine after that...
