Re-Ordering ID

Does anyone know how to re-number the IDs in the database?
For example, each data that are is played are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7....etc. And let's say I wanted to delete datas 2,4,5, and 7. Now the IDs that are remaining would display 1,3,6....etc. But I don't want it to look like that. I want to make them 1,2,3.... I have more than 200 datas displayed and it'd be a pain if I re-order the IDs manually. Someone did this when she pruned most of the datas in an instant, but how does she do it?
