HELL YES! I figured it out.

The query was confussing me since in looked like it just repeated what I pasted into the screen.

I then decided not to use \g and just paste the query from the documentstion, after changing the 'pmausr'and 'pmapass' to what I wanted them to be (making sure every little line where it refered to them was changed in the query).
