Thanks for that...now I really have to get my thinking head on...I take it that it is quicker to do the work in the SQL query rather than in the code? I have to admit that I have been using hte query purely to fill some arrays and then deal with the workings using that data...looking through some of these, it looks as though it can all be done in the Query and the code used just to display the result?
