Re: php cannot make connection to mysql

I not sure is this will solve the problem or not, but it works to me.

previously I do update from PHP 5.3.0 into 5.3.1.
MySQL works fine before I update and comes an error due to upgrading.
By following Joe Bedan instruction, it can solve my problem. but I still don't know what exactly the problem until I find something at my hosts file.
there are one line like this:
::1 localhost

after I remark it and change the MySQL connection host at PHP, it works.
if I unremark it, it back to the error.
