Chris, you are right, but I just wanted to offer a quick entry. In case you still need it rene, look here:

for the entire mysql extension. Pay attention to the examples give there, it's really adequate for most purposes. Browsing through the entire extension does not hurt either, scanning topics should tell you if its releventto you or not quick enough
