MySql embedded static library

Hello all,
I am looking to use the static library for the embedded mysql server (mysqlserver.lib) with a windows executable. In the binary distribution this library is built with the multi-threded code generation option. My application is built with the Multi-threded DLL code generation option, which of course causes link errors.

There is, of course, the mysql dll distribution, but I want to use the static library and not have to redistribute the mysql dll. I looked into rebuilding the code with the Multi-threded dll option, but every MySql document says not to do that and to use a binary distribution, however I am not opposed to doing that if someone can lead me through it. The best option would be a maintained prebuilt static mysqlserver.lib library with the Mutli-threded DLL code generation set.

So the question is, what are my options?

Thanks very much.
