MySQL versus SQL Server

We are using SQL server and I am looking for a solution that would allow lessor skilled people to manipulate data.
I do not know of any GUI's that front SQL Server, but have heard that MySQL has one. I have also seen where FoxPro is used to front MySQL.
Is the GUI flexible enough to handle most queries? What would be the reason for using FoxPro?
