First of all make sure your MS SQL Server accept TCP connections, then you can check if you have installed iODBC and FreeTDS (0.92 or greater) with support iODBC library (NOT unixODBC) - if not you must build it manulally, here you have manual for that: https://dev.mysql.com/doc/workbench/en/wb-migration-database-mssql-drivers-linux.html
