how to stop and start mysql database

Hi,

I am very new to mysql, i have instaled mysql on windows xp for test purpose,

how to stop and start mysql database,


actually i am oracle dba in oracle once we go to sql prompt we used to give


sql>shu immediate;

and then sql.startup;


helpfull is apprecited,
