Well I did use the Migration Toolkit and it was very slick. No problems and I didn't even use any documentation. I have a friend that has started his own business and everything as far as DB was setup on MySQL. He would like me to manage it and I am an Oracle person. Also my company is strictly Oracle and as you know it is expensive and my company would like to explore other options for possible future migration. We have an in house written PowerBuilder app that is developed for Oracle only. They would like to see it communicate with MySQL.

I guess my only fears are lack of knowledge on MySQL. I know how Oracle works, so Iam comfortable with it. MySQL seems easy, but we don't know a whole lot about it. Trying to get approved for training on something we don't use and don't know if we will is always a problem. So I am kind of just trying to wing it. Let me know if you have any advice or hints.

Thanks

Mike
