how to show time

Hiya, I've been working with oracle and I'm really having trouble creating a column that stores time. I mean time as in clock time like 12:03 for example and *without* the date.

I can use timestamps but that comes with a date. I've read about a datatype called time but everytime I try to create one, oracle says that the datatype doesnt exist. Is there anyway I can do this? Anyway at all?

Thanks a lot
