Mysql 5 stability and memory limit on amd64/EMT64 ?

Hi,

We are currently in the planning phase of a project which includes
the setup of a Mysql 5.0 server on a 64bit intel platform (amd64 opteron)

I have 2 general questions:

- Is the amd64 build available on mysql.com STABLE for SERIOUS production with large databases (20-60GB) on opteron and or EMT64 systems ?
- Is the IA-32 memory limit removed, eg can we use 8GB or 16GB in our system and have a large database buffer/cache ? (>2GB, maybe 4GB or 8GB) (like oracle on solaris SPARC)

Thanks,
Terrence Vergauwen
