Connect MySQL via ADO or DAO (ODBC) very slow

I Connect MySQL via ADO or DAO (ODBC) very slow, sometime may take 1 to 6 second to respond on one simple SQL statement . but I use mysqlcc run on same engine the is fast as 0.004 sec .
What was wrong ? ODBC ? or something else ?
