Necessary to rewrite Access functions to migrate?

Hello, I will be migrating our Access back-end to MySQL using typical ODBC driver and DBConvert for Access & MySQL. DBConvert helps with the datatype conversions and relationships. My [limited] understanding is that all logic for forms and reports will be taking place on the Access side, and simply using the connector driver to link to the MySQL tables. So is it necessary to rewrite all the functions and logic for these reports? I may use some pass-through queries to speed things up as time goes on, but initially it should be able to work without, correct?
Thanks much for any response to this newbie question.
