I had a similar problem using Access 97 or 2000 using ODBC 3.51.
To open the table with Access, each table must have a primary key defined as "MediumInt".
I have the "AUTO_INCREMENT" option checked also (not sure if that part is a requirement or not, but probably a good idea)
