Re: The decimal field's precision is too small--when making query by access

THANX FOR YOUR REPLY

BUT I THINK I HAD NOT TOLD CLEARLY.
I MAKE QUERY FROM ACCESS. SO USING % IS NOT A SOLUTION.

FOR EXAMPLE I HAVE 20000 DATA. FROM ADRESS BLANK I QUERY "ISTANBUL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY" (USING FIND ICON) WITH MATCH "WHOLE FILED". IF THERE IS "ISTANBUL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY", QUERY FINISHED IN LESS THAN 1 SECOND. IT IS AMAZING.

SIMILARLY FROM ADRESS BLANK, I QUERY "ISTANBUL" WITH MATCH "START OF FILED". IF THERE IS "ISTANBUL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY", QUERY FINISHED IN LESS THAN 1 SECOND. IT IS AMAZING TOO.

BUT WHEN I QUERY "ISTANBUL" WITH MATCH "ANY PART OF FILED". IF THERE IS "ISTANBUL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY", QUERY FINISHED IN MIN 20 SECOND. IT CANNOT BE TRUE.

BECAUSE IF I QUERY FROM COMMAND AND PROMPT LIKE
SELECT * FROM TABLE_NAME WHERE ADRESS LIKE 'ISTANBUL%', IT IS SO FAST. SO ACCESS MAKES SOMETHING CONFUSED.

THANKS FOR YOUR REPLIES
