MS Access 97, Access 2007, Run-Time and MySQL
I decided to use MSAccess as a front-end, MYSQL as a back-end. MySqlServer is on a linux computer, the connection via odbc 5.1 seems to be ok.
I have made several tests trying to make things work here in the company, as follows :
1) Access 97 - Front End : It Works really fast ! No problems, except that it will not work with Windows Vista Computers. So it´s not a real solution to use back the Access 97.
2) Access 2007 Run-Time SP2 : No problem, and it´s reasonable fast.
3) Access 2007 SP2 (the software where a develop the aplications for the Run-time users :
TERRIBLE SLOW. Any operation like "movelast" or "addnew record" in a table with 500.000 records take at least 10 minutes. In Access 97 it takes about two seconds using the same table. It seems to be impossible to make new applications.
Is there any soluction for this Access 2007 problem ?
