importing access text files into mysql

Hello,

This is my first forray into access and mysql, so pardon my ignorance...

I have a db in Access and would like to export a text file to later import it into mysql.

I don't know if this is the usual way of doing things, but the trouble is that my mysql is on a Mac and the db is in access (on a PC)...

I tried various export formats - comma delimited and tab delimited, but never had any luck in importing the table into mysql.

I tried every combination of "fields terminated by", "fields enclosed by" etc to no avail.

Could someone please explain to me how to set parameters to import a comma-delimited file (with the quotes enclosing fields) into mysql. Is it at all possible?

thank you very much
