Norbert Paprocki - Access database with over 500k records be faster in MySQL

Hi Folks,

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I have an access database that we find is running very slowly for queries.
We had a local developer look at it and he said because it had so many records (a little over 500,000) that it would be best if we considered using MySQL and have Access as the front end.

I am curious if anyone else has done this and has the speed improvement been worth the conversion. We anticipate the database to grow at a rate of 50,000 records per year.
