I think, you should try DBACentral for MySQL. It has Microsoft Access like approach to performing database administration and data management operation, but do it for MySQL.
DBACentral suppports data forms, so you can easily set-up GUY application as a client for MySQL.
You can quickly migrate to MySQL using DBACentral's wizards.
