MySQL ODBC 5.1 can't connect (10013) to MS Access 2010

I have:
• a MySQL server working on local network pc 1 (Vista 32-bit, Access 2007, 192.168.0.3),
• router port 3306 forwarded to pc 1,
• local MS Access front end successfully connected through ODBC driver 5.1 on pc 1,
• local MS Access works perfectly on pc 1 sourcing and updating data from MySQL,

• local network pc 2 (Windows 7 64-bit, Access 2010, 192.168.0.2) with ODBC driver 5.1 installed,
• ODBC connection to MySQL database SUCCESSFULLY tested in Control Panel System DSN and User DSN on local network pc 2 for ip address 58.#.#.13, local address 192.168.0.3, and website.com.au,

• external data ODBC Database data source configuration through machine source to MS Access 2010 on pc 2
------------> No databases can be seen or selected in the drop down on the MySQL Connector/ODBC Data Source Configuration, (however all can be seen fine in Control Panel ODBC on pc 2)
------------> if type in database name then test result "Connection Failed: [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't connect to MySQl on 'ip address' (10013)" then "ODBC--call failed."

Tried without success:
• changing port on pc 2 and forwarding through router,
• shutting down anti-virus software on pc 2,
• looking through MySQL Workbench 5.2 on pc 1 for any obvious settings.

Hoping someone knows a fix to this so I can link pc 2 Access front-end to pc 1 MySQL back-end.

Cheers.
