MS Access QBE / cost of linking to My SQL on server

I am a reasonably competent MS Access user with zero My SQL experience.

I have a website with a large My SQL database on the server. The developers have built an admin interface for update and reporting, but when the site goes live I know I will need lots more reporting and editing capabilities.

The database has at least 50 tables.

I do not intend to link Access to My SQL myself but will get someone else to do this for me.

When linked, will I have the freedom to build queries myself, including update and append queries?

Second question
What sort of cost (or hours) might be required to link MS Access to My SQL on the server?

Thanks ColinK
