Data tranformation during migration - access to mysql

Hello:
I am doing a project which involves migrating data from an access DB to a mysql DB in a new application with significantly different schema.
Any suggestions on a good [cheap/opensource] data transformation tool and documents/white papers that you have used to help the data tranformation/migration process?
I am moving only tables -- no views, triggers etc.
