Well one way that I recently blogged about ( http://bobfield.blogspot.com/2006/03/microsoft-access-undelete-or-lack.html ) is that if you delete a row and then change your mind, but the underlying engine does not support transactions, the rows cannot be recovered and #deleted displays instead. Or possibly the rows were deleted by another client while you were viewing them.
