I'm having trouble with this too.
I have linked tables (migrated from Access using the migration tool) - If I open the linked table in Access, and try to delete rows (e.g. all records in the table), I get an error 'another user is trying to update the table'. It then fails.
I'm using the current GA releases of MySQL and MyODBC...
